Terms of Service

These Terms govern your purchase and use of EchoControl software and the echocontrol.app website. By installing the software or completing a purchase, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.

1. Parties

"Publisher" means Fco. Javier Ferraz Rives, trading as Kokoaweb, C/ Fernando el Católico 61, 50006 Zaragoza, Spain (NIF: 25484775Q), reachable at support@echocontrol.app.
"You" or "User" means the individual who purchases or uses the Software.
"Software" means the EchoControl application, its bundled assets, and any updates delivered to you.

2. License Grant

Subject to payment of the applicable fee and compliance with these Terms, the Publisher grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to:

Install and run one (1) copy of the Software on up to two (2) devices that you personally own or control, activated with a single license key.
Use the Software solely for your personal, non-commercial gaming purposes.

The Software is licensed, not sold. This license does not transfer ownership of the Software or any intellectual property rights.

3. Restrictions

You may not:

Share, resell, sublicense, rent, lend, or otherwise distribute the Software or your license key to any third party.
Use the Software on more than two (2) devices simultaneously with a single license key.
Circumvent, disable, or tamper with any activation, license-enforcement, or copy-protection mechanism.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the limited extent expressly permitted by applicable law or required to exercise LGPL rights over the open-source components identified in the licenses/ folder distributed with the Software.
Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.
Use the Software in any way that violates applicable law or the terms of service of any game or platform.

4. Activation and Devices

The Software requires online activation on first launch. During activation, the application sends your license key and a non-reversible hardware fingerprint to the Publisher's server. The two-device limit is enforced server-side based on fingerprints; activating a third device requires contacting support to deactivate an existing slot.

After activation the Software operates fully offline. A brief internet connection is required for periodic license re-validation (at most once every 30 days). If re-validation is unavailable, the Software remains functional for up to 30 days.

5. Purchase and Payment

EchoControl is available through two channels:

Direct channel (Paddle) — you purchase directly from the Publisher via the Paddle platform (Paddle.com Market Ltd). Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record; payment processing, taxes, and receipts are handled by Paddle under their buyer terms.
Steam — you purchase through Steam (Valve Corporation). Steam's subscriber agreement and purchase terms apply to Steam transactions.

All prices are displayed inclusive of applicable VAT. The Publisher reserves the right to change pricing at any time; changes do not affect already-completed purchases.

6. Refund Policy

A summary follows; the full standalone policy is published at echocontrol.app/refund.

Steam channel

Steam purchases are subject to Steam's standard refund policy: refunds available within 14 days of purchase and fewer than 2 hours of playtime.

Direct channel (Paddle)

You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided the license key has not been activated. Once activated, the right of withdrawal is lost — you are informed of this at checkout, as required by EU Directive 2011/83/EU Art. 16(m) (digital content delivered immediately upon activation).

Refund requests must be sent to support@echocontrol.app with your order number. These terms do not limit any mandatory consumer rights applicable under your national law.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Software

EchoControl, including its source code, user interface, game profiles, voice command sets, documentation, branding, and logo, is the exclusive property of Fco. Javier Ferraz Rives (Kokoaweb), protected by copyright law. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

7.2 Pre-rendered Voice Audio

The voice responses bundled with the Software were generated using ElevenLabs' text-to-speech service under a paid commercial license. The Publisher owns the generated audio output and has the right to embed and distribute it within the Software. The voices are 100% synthetic (ElevenLabs Voice Design) and are not clones of any real person.

7.3 Open-Source Components

The Software incorporates open-source libraries under their respective licenses, including LGPL-licensed components (Qt/PySide6, libsndfile, pynput), Apache-2.0 (Vosk), and various MIT/BSD components. A complete inventory with verbatim license texts is provided in the licenses/ folder installed alongside the Software. LGPL-licensed components are dynamically linked; you have the right to replace them with compatible versions as permitted by the LGPL.

7.4 Game Trademarks

EchoControl is compatible with various PC games. All game names, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective developers and publishers. EchoControl is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any game developer or publisher. Compatibility does not imply any official relationship.

7.5 Voice Recognition Technology

The Software uses Vosk (Alpha Cephei Inc., Apache License 2.0) for offline speech recognition. All voice processing occurs locally on your device; no audio is transmitted to any server.

8. Updates and Compatibility

Updates within the same major version (v1.x) are provided free of charge via the Publisher's website or distribution channel. The Publisher may release compatibility updates when game patches alter default keybindings, but does not guarantee perpetual compatibility with all future game versions. No refunds are issued for compatibility changes caused by third-party game updates.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

The Software automates keyboard and mouse input to other applications. The Publisher does not warrant that use of the Software complies with the terms of service of any game or platform. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use is permitted under applicable game rules and platform policies. The Publisher does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Publisher's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Software shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Software. The Publisher shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including mandatory consumer rights under Spanish and EU law or liability for fraud or gross negligence.

11. Suspension and Termination

Your license terminates automatically if you breach any provision of these Terms. On termination you must cease all use of the Software and delete all copies. The Publisher may also revoke a license key if it detects fraudulent purchase activity (chargebacks, unauthorised key resale). Termination does not entitle you to a refund except as provided in Section 6.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Zaragoza, Spain, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise. EU consumers may also have access to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

13. Changes to These Terms

The Publisher may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Software, applicable law, or business practices. Material changes will be communicated via the website. Continued use of the Software after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must cease using the Software and may request a refund under the conditions of Section 6.
